Louis Jebb
managing DireCTOR
Louis Jebb, 50, is a media consultant who advises multinational businesses on the
branding, design, outsourcing and production management of their publications.
In the past four years, he has worked in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain,
Poland and South Africa on business consulting, staff training, and the
relaunch and redesign of national newspaper titles, business titles, and
magazines owned by Independent News & Media, Johnston Press, Agora (Poland) and Telegraph Media Group. He deals with
both the editorial and the commercial sides of media businesses, and works with
associate consultants and designers in Spain and the United States.
Before setting up his business, Louis worked as a journalist at The Spectator and The Independent. At The Independent, he held various editorial and executive positions, and was latterly night
editor and then production editor for news. He was in charge of production for
the relaunch of The Independent in September 2003 as the world’s first dual-format newspaper, when the title was published in broadsheet and
compact format each day, with content from the primary format replicated intact
in the secondary format. This rebranding exercise gave The Independent a 20 per cent rise in sales, year on year.
In 2007 he played a central role in planning the outsourcing and templating of
all print titles published in Dublin by Independent News & Media (Ireland).
